Background

This was a community of people sharing a common interest, but schedule announcements went out by text, participation sign-ups used a separate form, and conversations happened on yet another messenger. Members had to switch between several apps just for one group.

What we chose, and why it fit

A single Flutter codebase for iOS and Android

Launching on both platforms simultaneously from the first version was necessary to avoid losing participants. With a small team, building separately for each platform would have made the launch schedule hard to hit, so we shipped both from one codebase.
