Background

Employees punched paper time cards for attendance and submitted leave requests through a separate approval form. With many field workers, the system required physically coming to a terminal in the office for a record to be logged.

What we chose, and why it fit

Sent attendance records directly to the server together with location verification

The core requirement was that a record be logged without coming to the office terminal. We switched to sending the record straight from the phone along with location, so field workers could log attendance without going through the office.
